A Message from Dr. Joe Dispenza From the hit movie "What The Bleep do We Know!?"
Dr. Nicholas Tivoli, Dr. Joe Dispenza & Dr. Joan Norton
"I have the pleasure to know your two doctors, Joan and Nicholas. They are leading-edge doctors in our profession and they understand the importance of proper health care. They are highly educated, kind, sincere, and most important, committed to their patients' health. I thank them for this opportunity to contribute a few words to all of you, so that you may be an active partner in your own wellness.
"After speaking to many of you and answering your questions concerning health and pain, we decided to address these questions for everyone.
"But first, let's look at the source of your health. The greatest privilege we know of is to work with the human body - the most remarkable temple ever built. In essence, we work with life, the principles of nature, and an awesome power that few ever stop to acknowledge.
"This power is life; it is the divine force within all of us. It is the intelligence that operates 24/7 to keep your heart beating, your food being digested, your kidneys filtering blood, and so on.
"Be thankful that your conscious mind doesn't have to add these thousands of tasks to your list of things to do every day!
"So an innate intelligence governs the body. This "subconscious" intelligence carries your life force from the brain through the central nervous system, exiting your spine between each vertebra to create balance in every cell, tissue, and organ. When this force is interfered with, the body moves into a state of dis-ease, imbalance, and suffering.
"When you're in pain, many of you ask us the same questions: What's wrong with me? I was doing so well! How did I get this way? What can I do to prevent it from happening again? We answer you, but when the pain goes away, amnesia often sets in. That is, we have the same conversation over again.
"So pay attention … ready? The body experiences three types of stress:
Physical (car accidents, falls, lifting improperly, etc.)
Chemical (pesticides, pollutants, food allergies, chemical exposures, etc.)
Emotional (time pressures, finances, job, family tragedies, etc.)
"When these stresses are greater than your individual ability to integrate them - to plan and carry out solutions - a cascade of chemical reactions occur. These cause adrenal surges and exhaustion; acid secretions into the gut that limit digestion and absorption; and acid release into the bloodstream, which breaks down essential metabolites including proteins. When this happens, your body contracts muscles tighten, joints stiffen and ache, and your body loses its vital energy. Can you relate?
"Essentially, your body's nervous system is in a fight or flight reaction without having any means of release or immediate solution, because in our social environment, "fighting or flighting" is not acceptable. Instead, we suppress or rationalize away our stress, or we experience depression. And all of these things are recorded in the body.
"There are more joints in the spine than anywhere else, and when these joints contract, they interfere with nerves carrying the life force out to the body. This causes pain and well as a weakening in the body's structures and functions.
"Everybody has their own pattern of contraction (the place in your body where your pain manifests), based on each person's weaknesses. These weaknesses are the direct result of:
• Certain attitudes (fear, worry, regret, self-doubt, etc)
• Genetics (mom and dad's weaknesses)
• Lifestyle (diet, exercise or lack of, job, time pressures, bad habits, sleep patterns, etc.)
• Past injuries (physical and emotional)
"Healing, however, involves the ability to express a self-conscious awareness that trusts in a higher power within all of us. It involves the ability to get yourself out of the way, so it may flow through you and your life (Thy will be done). The moment we acknowledge that there is such a power, and that the power that made the body, heals the body, the process of healing starts to work. The more we trust in it, the more it works. It just needs our permission.
"It's only when we forget to take care of ourselves, because of attitudes, bad habits, etc., that we lose our balance - and the body follows. When we move away from expressing that power within - which is a constant, light-hearted love - our innate intelligence becomes blocked.
"So how do we change to avoid such entropy?
First, see what has happened. You have let yourself get lost in the normal stresses of life and ignored your innate intelligence.
Then, develop your awareness. Before pain manifests in the body get adjusted so that you can have the power turned on again. Become aware that you have been down this road before, and do something before you become an end-product of three months of chaos, stress, and imbalance.
Next, review your life to see where you didn't create time for yourself, didn't resolve incomplete issues, didn't change self-destructive behaviors and habits, and where you experienced fear, worry, lack, self-pity, etc. instead of expressing love.
Make a simple plan to get it together, regroup, and start again to experience life's challenges and mysteries.
Finally, release your past actions and do your best, remembering what you just learned about yourself.
"This is the ongoing process of life and health. When do you get there? There is always a greater level of health. There is no limit to the level of life force you can express.
"Each time you end up in a downward spiral, energy is blocked in your body and mind. You reach the point where you can't make decisions, you feel overwhelmed, you lose motivation, you feel tired, and there is absolutely no time to take care of yourself. When you reach this state, your body will be in pain, resulting either from past actions or from an injury that you will create.
"Now you can see why we shake our heads when people say, "I think I slept wrong." Why, all of a sudden, did they sleep "wrong"? What have they been doing for the last several weeks? Digging ditches? Changing jobs?
"What is the alternative? When we get caught up in life like this (and we all do), let's not shut down our innate power by expressing less than our full potential for life and health.
"Get adjusted regularly, so you don't have to repeat your pattern of pain and, more important, so you don't allow your subconscious intelligence to be turned off. When you wait for pain, you buy into those television commercials that tell us to treat symptoms. Any text on disease or health will tell you that pain is the last symptom of any disease … it's the tip of the iceberg.
"Try something novel. Commit yourself to change, don't wait for symptoms to manifest, and be a conscious person who takes care of self and family by preventing dis-ease.
In part Two of this article, we'll talk further about how you and your children can release your inner power to reach your highest level of health.
